Doilies in Design

I am a sucker for doilies.  I gravitate toward their vintage chic appeal and would collect them if my linen closet were a tad larger.  The motif of the doily is so delicate and light it’s hard not to fall in love with it’s lacey appeal.  These cake embellishments above by Andie’s Specialty Sweets are perfection.  I almost wouldn’t want to cut the cake!  Check them out HERE for $90.

Below, I’d love to show off these delicate hand screenprinted notebooks at a meeting by CozyBlue.  Only $9.50 per book HERE.  Also, available in a black doily print.  Just lovely!

Above, these hand crocheted coasters by Henna’s Boutique would cozy up any space.  A set of four available HERE for $11 would make the perfect house warming gift!  Below, I love the delicate nature of the doilies sewn into a basic black t-shirt.  Amy Wild constructed this shirt from recycled fabric and an antique doily piece from the 1900s.   It’s available HERE for $32.

Last but not least below, this clutch is a cute wardrobe addition for any lover of vintage.  Finch crafted this piece from upcycled leather and lined it with a fun floral fabric.  Available for $69 HERE.

Hey! Thank you for your comment! I love this post about doilies. I thought you might like seeing these links that I’ve run into in the past and bookmarked – though you may have already seen them. They’re about doilies and reusing them creatively.

http://www.handmadeology.com/a-moderntake-on-the-doily-850-lamp-for-less-than-50/ or http://dosfamily.com/2011/01/lace-lamp/ These are lamps, but I also saw these really cool bib-neckline blouses women have made from doilies. So much fun, this DIY stuff.

Anyway, I hope you’ll continue to reach out to me with feedback. It’s truly appreciated. I’d also like to know what kind of things you would like to read about.

Hope to hear from you soon.

    Hugs,
    AKG
